ABOUT

Hello!

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet. It's so lovely to "meet" you.
Here at wisp + whim you'll find the musings of a 30-year-old woman who is slowly but surely making her way in the world.

At my core I am a writer.

A bit of background: While studying journalism at Pepperdine University, I served as the editor of my college newspaper's arts and entertainment section, which is when my deep love for visiting museums, partaking in cultural activities of all kinds, and eating delicious food at fabulous restaurants began. I interned at USA Weekend Magazine, the Ventura County Star and Angeleno magazine before putting my bachelor's degree to use at my hometown newspaper, where I worked for five years as lead reporter.

Then came 2013, a big year for me: I moved to San Diego to be with my Coast Guard boyfriend, got engaged on a vacation to Maui, took a marketing job at an arts center in Escondido and planned a wedding. 2014 was just as life-changing: I got married to my love, my best friend, and then, at the instruction of Uncle Sam, we packed up all our stuff, said goodbye to family and friends, and moved across the country to St. Petersburg, Florida. And, as of June 2015, we just made another big move to New Jersey.

At the moment, this is how I'd describe myself:

Writer, creator, dreamer.
Newlywed, military wife, dog mom (to Jasper and Cali!).
California girl turned East Coast transplant.
Wino, foodie, cooking enthusiast, calligraphy newbie.

Here I write about what makes me happy, what makes me think, what interests and inspires me. My posts are just bits + pieces of my life + loves. My wisps + whims. A journalist at heart, I truly believe everyone has a story to tell. And I've told many people's stories. This is my space to tell mine.

If you've read this far, bravo! Thank you. I'm so glad you're here. My hope is that my words will resonate with you... and that you'll share your wisps + whims with me, too.
